BEATLES ORIGINAL RECORDINGS REMASTERED AND BOXED
Apple Corps Ltd. and EMI Music announced the release of the original Beatles catalogue, digitally re-mastered for the first time. The entire remastered catalogue will be worldwide available on CD as a box set September 9th, 2009 (9-9-9). All albums have been re-mastered by a dedicated team of engineers at EMI's Abbey Road Studios in London over a four years period. They used state of the art recording technology alongside vintage studio equipment in order to keep optimal authenticity and integrity of the original analogue recordings. The result is the highest fidelity the catalogue has seen since its original release.
14 albums, in stereo.
The collection comprises all 12 Beatles albums in stereo, plus 'Magical Mystery Tour' which became part of The Beatles' core catalogue when CDs were first released in 1987. 'Past Masters Volume I and II' are now combined as one title and added to the collection for a total of 14 titles over 16 discs.
Original artwork.
Each CD is packaged with the original UK album art and enriched with expanded booklets, containing original and newly written liner notes, detailed historical information, recording notes and rare photos.
Mini 'Making Of' documentaries.
It is also the first time that the first four Beatles albums will be available in stereo in their entirety on compact disc. These 14 albums, along with a DVD collection of the documentaries, will be available in a boxed set. The documentaries are only available for a limited period and offer a unique and very personal insight into the studio atmosphere during each recording period.
Pricing information has not yet been released. There will also be a re-issue of mono-albums and a Beatles online game, The Beatles Rock Band, the same day.
